I'm so full of joy! I am so blessed! Im so full of thankfulness for a God who hears our prayers. For weeks i had friend prayi g for a successful VBAC but just a beautiful experience and dis God deliver! But also im so grateful that as i oray to be spirit filled, with abundant joy, he shows up and fills me with fruit that only comes from the spirit. Thank you God for giving me a heart to pray for my nurse who wasn't welcoming to my doula and eventually she lightened up. Thank you for letting Elaine walk through this journey with us and for her unashamed prayers over us as we labored with Audrey. Thank you that you have me joy and gratefulness for our hospital staff as they loved me to health with their gifts. Thanks for pairing us uo with Joanne and Amy who were both great matches to what I needed, factual people. Thank you that Paul and I got to see the miracle of birth. Thank you for epidural which helped my body relax and rest for pushing my baby into the world. Thank you that I got to be the first to hold my baby girl, to look into her eyes and say "Mommy loves you." Thank you that she was amazingly healthu despite diabetes and she scored a 9 and 9 on the Apgar scale. Thank you that Paul and I got to labor together and that he was a rock star holding my hand and encouraging me along the way. Thank you that he encouraged me to labor 20 minutes longer without narcotics as I waited for an epidural at an 8!! Thank you that the anesthesiologist did an amazing job giving me the perfect dose and placement so I could still feel all my contractions! Thank you that my body kept going, beautifully working with Audrey to be born. And what perfect timing! Paul was able to get back safely from his golf tournament in Bremerton in enough time to eat, shower and nap! My mom would arrive in time to visit us at the hospital. Isaiah would still be able to go to his first soccer practice with mama and papa. It was a weekend, so Paul didn't have to miss work. Elaine made it to the hospital in time and predicted a birth between 2 and 3 am.
And my recovery...
Still hurts to have hemorrhoids, have a 2nd degree tare and deal with bleeding nipples as we work with being lip and tongue tie. But don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade it for how everything went! I'm in good hands as I recover and even just 6 days later I'm feeling g very hopeful that I will be "good" within a two week period! Oh, and Dr. Kass was amazing at analyzing, explaining and carrying out thr tongue tie procedure. So grateful for his service and how we can now nurse (no pumping, no shields, no syringes, no tubbing) just how God designed us to. And friends and family, they have come alongside us and celebrated with us!!
I. Am. So. Grateful.
Thank you Lord.
You hear our prayers.
You are good.
You fill me with a spirit that is powerful and bears fruit I could never bear.
Thank you!
