Dearest Audrey,
You are a big 2 year old now! I can't believe it! It has been such an honor being your mommy and watching you grow and explore this world that God has given us. You continue to amaze me in so many ways including your independence, strength & coordination, energy, pure excitement, curiosity, concern for others, desire to be around other kids (social), your fine motor skills (like already drawing shapes), and of course your sweetness.
I love your giggles. You constantly volunteer to be tickled. You recently have really taken to your dolls and pretend play. For example, the other day we had just come back from taking your baby doll on a walk around the neighborhood and I found you getting the pretend food out. I caught you licking the ice cream cone and you thought you were so funny. I love you snuggles! You always want to hold my hand or pull my arm across your chest to cuddle when you are tired. It is so sweet and I cherish it. You are easy going in the manner that you don't mind me dropping you off at BSF leaders and class and at drop offs like the gym. I' really grateful that you are happy and content so mommy can get breaks during the day. What a gift to me, thank you!
This year I've really seen you take to Daddy and Isaiah. Very often throughout the day, with much concern, you ask "where is Isaiah?" and "where is daddy?" And what's even better is that you absolutely light up when you see them! What a joy you are!
This year there are two traits that I'm praying over you (1) that you and your brother will be lifelong friends (not enemies) and (2) that God is our authority over us. As a little two year old, I see the struggle for your little heart to choose otherwise. As you learn you are independent and you have your own thoughts and opinions, you tend toward wanting things to be about you. I get it, I too am a sinner! I've just practiced these sins much longer than you. The beautiful thing, is as a mother you too are reminding me that God is authority over us all and that he desires for us to live a reconciled life loving our neighbors. I pray this for you this year my dear daughter.
I love you and am absolutely delighted to be your mother!
Love,
Forever your Mommy
