Dear Sweet Audrey,
Today you are one years old! Your personality is just blossoming right now, what a joy and privilege to see! You are soft and gentle at heart, observant and sweet. On the other hand you are curious, adventurous and strong willed. For example, you got your first baby doll for your birthday from Auntie Johannah. You looked her in the eye for the first time and caressed her face. You could tell you fell in love with this little toy instantly. You also be line for any open door to get outside, you direct us to walk up and down stairs over and over again and you couragousely climb anything of any height.
You my sweet baby have been such a joy to my life. God says every good and perfect gift is from above. Thank you Lord Jesus for this little blessing in my life. You have been such a sweet baby, a bundle of joy to snuggle with. I look forward to seeing you blossom this next year as you toddle your way through some adventures and develop your own thoughts and actions. Can't wait!
"Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10
Rest, my little one and find freedom in finding who God made you. Be you. Be courageously you. For God's glory!
Love,
Mommy

Confession of Depression
Today, Pastor Jeff preached a beautiful sermon. My main take away was that my sin is when I believe something about God that is incorrect. He gave an example of depression and right away I knew God was speaking to me. Maybe if you are depressed, you believe you are your own God and you keep failing or letting yourself down no matter how hard you try." That is me!
Lord,
I confess that I believe I'm my own God. It has caused me slavery to trying and trying and trying, unrest of my soul which has spiraled to seasons of depression. I can read books, try to save others, learn how to do things better, try harder, get up earlier to be more productive, be nicer, etc. but God I'm tired. I want to just rest knowing that you are God of all things, that I can not save anyone, that I'm worthy as your own child but you move the mountains, that I don't have to put up a front for my children, my husband, even for strangers because you are God and you are in control. Forgive me God for trying to be you. Please, allow me to rest in who I am, to be honest and true to myself, to be who you made me, and to repent when I fall short of your glory. Lord Pastor Jeff reminded me that this will affect how I see myself and how I treat others. Help me then to bear real, healthy fruit where I change and how I love others changes too. You came for freedom, please set me free!
Amen!
