My Greatest Fear

Dear my sweet Audrey,
Today you gave me the greatest scare. You choked, not sure on what, and we had to call for an ambulance. This is how it all went down...

You had figured a way to scoot backward, sit up and turn to move places but still hadn't mastered crawling. I thought you were fine, there was nothing for you to get in to, so I sat you on the ground of the bathroom floor away from us. I was excited because after many successful and handsome haircuts I had given Isaiah, I was now transitioning to being your daddy's hairstylist. I was focusing on  how to cut his hair, it was much harder than I realized, then I would peek at you every so often just to check in and make sure you were your cheerful self. It only took a split second though. I looked at you and something was wrong. There was nothing around but you were chocking on something. In one split second daddy called the ambulance, I grabbed you in my arms in emergency mode to get something out and was pleading to God on my knees not to take my baby girl away! My deer little one, the paramedics arrived and listen to you. You still weren't breathing normally but good news, you weren't turning blue nor were your oxygen levels dropping. God sustained you and eventually your breathing returned to normal. To this day I'm not sure what happened. I can only suspect that you grabbed a chunk of hair. I praise God that I get to hold you again and snuggle you, to watch your face light up at the simplest of silly faces and the splashed in the bath tub. I know you are ultimately God's child, but I never want to loose you. I love you dearly my little one. Praise God for him filling in my imperfections as a mommy.
Love,
Mommy

Update
4th of July, 2016
It's not even been 3 weeks and it happened again. This time we were in downtown Kirkland watching the parade. We were eating some grapes and I think you had gotten a plastic blue star off Isaiah's bike spokes in your mouth too. Between the two, not sure which one, you started choking again. I went into panic mode again but grateful there was a police officer right there who called the paramedics over. It took about a good 30 minutes and some nursing before you relaxed but boy did I loose it. Audrey, I must apologize. I have not been responsible enough, keeping you safe. You are crawling now and teething, everything goes in your mouth. I must watch you more closely. I must cut up your food into little piece. For you are my precious little one and I must be responsible to take care of you. I'm sorry I let this happen. Will you forgive me?
Love,
Mommy
